The cushion, made of long synthetic fur in two different tones, is reminiscent of the great animals of the African Savannah, seeking shade from the scorching sun.

What sets the Savana armchair apart from other furniture pieces is its unique construction. The armchair is made entirely by hand, without the use of any metal or wood. The wicker branches are curved in water and then glued one by one, forming a sturdy base that resembles a tree trunk. This intricate process, carried out in a family-owned factory in Sao Paulo, results in a piece of furniture that is not only functional but also a work of art.

The Savana armchair project began in October 2016 in Sao Paulo and was completed in January 2017. The design was first exhibited at the Paralela show in February 2017 in Sao Paulo. Despite the challenges of working with wicker, a material the team had never worked with before, the end result is a piece of furniture that is as beautiful as it is functional.

The Savana armchair was awarded the Silver A' Furniture Design Award in 2018, a testament to its unique design and excellent craftsmanship. The award is given to designs that showcase outstanding expertise and innovation, and the Savana armchair certainly fits the bill.
